4 Detox Tips To Avoid “jacking” Your Metabolism
Most people love the idea of doing a detox or a cleanse but they have no idea what one to pick.
It’s not your fault. I believe there’s a lack of knowledge and/or resources for healthy cleanses out there. There is also a stigma against detox’s because there are so many harmful versions on the market.
Here’s what you need to know.
- A detox cleanse will lower the acidity in your body which accumulates over the years from toxins on your food and pollution in the air and water. Having lower acidity levels in the body decreases your risk of cancer, GI issues and other diseases.
- A detox cleanse will completely revamp and improve your gut health. Without a healthy gut, you cannot get the nutrients you need from your food, you don’t eliminate toxins and waste adequately and you harness inflammation. It doesn’t matter how much you exercise or cut calories, if your gut health is poor you will struggle to lose fat, feel energized and healthy.

Watch out for starvation cleanses (The Master Cleanse) that will mess with your metabolism and hurt your long term goals.
- You should only do 1-2 detox cleanses per year. Ideally 1 is enough but if you have IBS or other digestive health issues, 2 is fine. Be weary of a detox cleanse that is suggested too frequently.
