Knowing VS. Believing [The Key To Success]

Before I get to the purpose of today’s blog, I want to take a minute to thank you.
Thank you for being a part of my tribe, my family, my list of friends.
Thank you for being such a huge part of my purpose.
Most of all, thank you for trusting me to deliver content to not only inspire you, but to educate you on the safest and best methods to lose weight and feel your absolute best.
I want to express my deep, deep love for you, because it’s true. It’s real.
I really want my followers, my friends, and my family to have the best health – to feel their greatest energy, to have fantastic relationships, to love themselves, to feel inspired to go after their dreams, and to have success in their career.
Most people who follow me on Popsugar or Facebook….
They want to get fit.
They want to get healthy.
They want to feel strong.
Since you are taking the time to read this, it’s probably a safe bet to assume that’s one of your goals as well.
Well, guess what?
I got your back.
But, we are going to have to get dirty.
We have to PULL THE ROOTS of the things that hold us back.
Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been a mad scientist, scribbling in my journal, writing so much my fingers were sore.
I kept asking myself the same question, over and over, and I really want you to ask yourself the same question:
What am I doing in my life right now to get in the best shape of my life?
I want you to jot down this question, but more importantly, I really want you to dig into your answer.
I truly believe that most of us are just weed whacking at our bad lifestyle habits, behaviors, and mindsets.
We’re taking a weed whacker and using surface level solutions to reach our goals.
But, instead of just cutting at the top, we have to get on our knees and dig at those weeds and pull them out by their roots, where those habits and behaviors began.
I believe if you get down on your knees and get your hands dirty (work on personal power and belief), you can dig out all those roots.
If you’re a gardener, like me, you know how good it feels to pull those weeds. It’s like, “Yes! This baby ain’t coming back!”
Why is it so easy for us to look at weeds in a flower bed and realize they need to be removed by the root, but we can’t look at our lives that way?
When it comes to our mindset….the negative limiting beliefs we have…. or the bad habits of binging, sabotaging our diet or skipping workouts for a couple weeks – we aren’t digging deep and getting rid of the reason those habits and behaviors began in the first place.
I created the Sexy Confident Woman Formula so women could pull the roots, to lay the foundation of their garden – fresh and new, and plant new seeds.
- New seeds for growth.
- New mindsets.
- New habits.
- New behaviors.
- New values.
All the things that make up our life.
Our beliefs define our values.
Our values dictate our behavior.
So, whatever it is you value in your life – your self-worth, what you value about your health, what you value about other people – those things are going to dictate how you behave, the actions you take.
And those behaviors create your lifestyle habits.
Those lifestyle habits are ultimately going to determine your success or failure.
You’re not dumb. You know what you need to do.
You know what you need to eat. You know what it means to live a healthy lifestyle.
Eat real food, healthy food.
Exercise and be active daily.
Get enough sleep.
Stay hydrated.
See, you know it. But are you doing it? And more importantly, are you doing it consistently?
It’s not that we don’t know what to do, it’s our beliefs that are lacking. We know what to do, we’re smart women!
We want to feel good.
We want the energy.
So, why do we keep lacking that consistency and that sustainability in our lives?
It’s our mindsets. Our beliefs.
There’s a difference between “knowing how and believing why”. We all know how to be healthier. But we have to believe why.
Why am I eating healthy?
Why am I moving my body?
Why am I getting sleep?
Why am I staying hydrated?
You might know why, but there’s a good chance you don’t believe why.
In the SCW Formula, these are the things we transform.
It’s about thinking differently, changing your thought process, and changing your beliefs.
I want to talk about the beliefs you already have.
Some people are like, “Ugh, eating healthy is such a drag.” What about you? What are your beliefs about eating healthy?
Write them down, but be honest. Don’t write down what you think I want you to say, write down what you truly believe and how you truly feel.
Is one of your beliefs that junk food is delicious? I have friends that think this, and I know there are a lot of people that believe junk food is delicious.
If you believe it, you will eat that, right?
I also have plenty of friends who think healthy eating is a drag. Once again, they believe it, so they won’t eat it.
We have to think about what we are telling ourselves.
What do you believe about food?
What do you believe about what’s healthy?
What about staying hydrated?
What are your beliefs about exercise?
Are your reactions anything like:
“God, not again! I gotta do this damn workout! Ugh!”
“Oh, it’s going to be so hard to give up my M&Ms, my Doritos, and my Reese’s.”
“I hate water!”
You dread it. You hate the idea. You feel the pain. You don’t have belief.
You don’t see the value.
If we don’t value what we’re doing for our body. Instead, we’re fighting it.
We make it our enemy.
We see it as a punishment on our body because we’re pissed.
We’re pissed at our body because it doesn’t look the way we want it to.
So we punish our body with exercise and see removing those foods we love as deprivation.
We’re not seeing exercise as a way to care for our body and love our body.
We’re not seeing eating healthier as a way to fuel our body and give yourself something good.
We’re working out because we don’t like ourself and we’re trying to make a change.
Am I right?
But, how many healthy people do you know that dread being active?
Zero!!
It’s changing our mindset!
It’s believing different things about these healthy behaviors.
But that’s not it. There’s that other thing.
The belief about being successful.
Are you saying to yourself, “I’m never going to get to where I need to be, so why even bother?”
Have you been on your journey for the past three, four, even six months to get back to the shape you were in during college, or even high school? Before kids?
But you keep saying, “I’ve been working so hard for it and I’m just never going to get there.
It’s never gonna be the same.
I’m never gonna be in the shape I was in before.”
If that’s your belief, that will be your truth.
There’s so much power in our beliefs.
So much power in our mindset.
Until you believe that, you won’t change your beliefs.
You won’t change your results.
Have belief in yourself.
Have belief in your ability to do anything.
Because, you can! You just have to believe it!
There’s a difference between knowing how to be your healthiest and believing why you should be your healthiest.
It’s not about knowing how. Everybody knows how!
It’s everywhere. It’s online. Every fitness trainer tells you. Every health food diet program tells you.
There’s supplement companies trying to sell you quick fixes by telling you results will come without diet and exercise, that you’ll be better because of their product.
But the truth is, the only one that can make you better is you, and it starts with your belief – belief in why it matters, why it’s important, and why you will get where you want to be.
Without that why and belief in why you’re doing what you’re doing, your actions and behaviors will never change – not for the good at least.
Let me ask you something – Have you been one of those people that went on a diet or started a fitness program and hated it the whole time?
Did you stick with it?
Probably NO…because you never changed your beliefs about it.
I want you to take some time to write down your beliefs about hydration, fitness, sleep, nutrition.
If they’re not in line with the results you want, we have to work on changing those beliefs.
In my coaching program, The Sexy Confident Woman Formula, I share the steps that you’ll need to take to pull the roots and plant new seeds in your life that will bring new growth, new success, and new results.
Sure, you can keep doing the same things you’ve been doing and keep getting the same results.. but I want you to try a new approach – thinking about things differently.
It’s time to put the weed whacker away, grab a shovel, and start digging.
