Let’s Talk About BREAKFAST (favorites listed below)

Do you eat it?
Do you like it?
Do you skip it?
Do you despise it?
Is it big?
Is it small?
Is it healthy?
Is it unhealthy?
If you answered, “Eat it”, “Like it”, “It’s Big”, “It’s Healthy” then you get an A + and probably have been eating breakfast like this your entire life.
Breakfast is a habit that we form growing up! Your parents might have had to force you to eat because most kids aren’t hungry in the morning. They might have given you some cereal with milk or the occasional eggs and toast, right? The captain crunch, lucky charms, and coco puffs were your favorite but if your parents were health conscious they gave you cheerios, raisin bran, or shredded wheat (no frost).
How great it is to be a kid, parents teaching us what to do, guiding us to grow healthy and strong. Then you get older and make your own choices in high school, college and into the real world!!
What habits did you form for yourself as you matured into adulthood?
High school is a time of insecurities, rebellion, change, and much more! Did you eat breakfast then?
College is a time when you no longer have parents buying your food, cooking for you, and peeping over your shoulder every meal. Did you eat breakfast in college? Or was it lunch because you missed breakfast while sleeping?
After graduation it’s time to fend for yourself! You have a kitchen but there’s no longer a dining hall with endless options! Did you eat breakfast then?
Think back to all the stages of your life and try to remember what habits you were forming in the morning! Those habits might have changed during each transition of your life. Was it for the better or worse? Did you slowly care less and less about the quality of your breakfast and what you fed yourself FIRST in the day.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s an old saying but it’s not going to change. The morning is the most important time to feed and hydrate the human body. It’s science, it’s a fact, and it’s proven time and time again that people that eat a quality breakfast in the morning, are at a healthier weight and more productive.
The habits that you have formed over the years define who you are at this moment. So if you look in the mirror and you’re not happy with what you see and how you feel, then it’s time to change your habits. Let breakfast be one of them and make it a healthy one!
