There are two ways to get what we want in life… quickly for the short term or permanently with some real work.
Has there ever been a time in your life where you reached a big goal and stayed successful without putting in some real work?
- Do people lose weight and keep it off by without doing the real work on their habits and behaviors consistently over time?
- Do couples celebrating their 20th anniversary say it was easy and required no real work to stay together?
It’s so appealing and easy to go for the quick fix when it comes to our fitness goals…
But the reality is, when we go for the quick fix, our results usually don’t last.
The quick fix up front leads to a long-term struggle because our success rarely lasts.
We keep trying to put a band aid on a gaping wound.
On the flip side, tackling the struggles up front takes much longer for us to reach our goals but results in long-term success.
We have to face the mental and emotional challenges that come with doing the real work on ourselves in the beginning.
However, once we do, we are able to avoid living with a weak and frustrated mind in the long run.

The Fast & Easy Solution
When someone wants to lose weight they try and find a healthy diet or meal plan to follow. It’s a fast and easy solution to reach their goal fast!
The Real Solution
The real solution to your weight loss goal (if you truly want to keep the weight off and change your body and health) is much more difficult and requires much more thought and effort from YOU!
Learning versus Experiencing
Here’s an extreme comparison…
If someone wants to learn how to fly a plane, can they learn by simply getting on a plane and experiencing the ride?
That makes no sense right? Of course this is a super extreme comparison but I wanted you to get in the same frame of mind when it comes to learning versus experiencing.
We cannot become a master of our nutrition by simply eating from a healthy meal plan. It provides the experience of eating healthy, feeling good, and losing weight just like taking a plane ride offers us the experiencing of flying and getting from one destination to another.
But what happens when life gets turbulent!
You have a few tough weeks at work….you get in a fight with your boyfriend…..your stress levels sky rocket?
Meal plan gets tossed that’s what happens!
Just like when turbulence starts to shake the plane! You have no idea how to deal with turbulence because you don’t really know how to fly the plane.
Flying on a plane doesn’t help you understand flight any more than getting a healthy meal plan helps you gain control over your eating habits.
It’s a quick fix or done for you strategy that works for a short while but doesn’t give you total control.
We Can Self Save When We Are In Control
Wouldn’t you rather invest the time learning how to gain self control and autonomy to make the right choices in your diet so that you have ability to self save, change course and survive a crash when things get turbulent in life?
The reality is that life is not a smooth ride everyday. More days are turbulent than not!
