Doing The Same Thing & Expecting A Different Result?

If you’ve been reading my blogs, listening to my podcasts, or watching any of my mindset training videos, you know how strongly I feel about making small shifts in our mindsets – developing that confidence and strength of mind – so you can make massive changes in your life.
You can reach any goal you have.
Does this sound familiar:
“You know what Anna, I’ve just been failing in this whole weight loss process, this whole journey of trying to get healthy. I just can’t seem to be successful. I keep going on these diets and trying these fitness programs, and I keep failing.”
You know what? It’s not your fault!
There’s so much different information out there, teaching you to eat this way, and exercise this much?
But you continue to struggle.
Are you still just taking the advice you’ve always been given?
Go on a diet. Restrict your calories. Stop eating carbohydrates. Kick your own ass for an hour.
Have you ever thought that weight loss companies and the people selling you the quick fixes and supplements might not want you to be successful? Have you ever thought that they might just be trying to sell you these surface level solutions so that you keep buying from them?
You keep having those struggles and frustrations, so you have to keep going back, keep trying again and again.
I don’t think those are the intentions of those companies and those people. But, in reality, that’s what’s happening because they’re not giving you the real solution to having long-term success – and that’s strengthening your mindset.
It’s that personal development and empowerment in yourself.
That’s where I come in.
My goal is to help you break through it once and for all.
I don’t want you to be my client forever. I don’t want you to be anybody’s customer forever.
I want YOU to have total control over your life.
I want YOU to have the ability to make the decisions that are right for you – to be joyous in your life, to not feel like you’re trapped in a program or that you don’t have the liberty to make choices for yourself because you feel like a failure if you go off of a certain plan or program.
It’s about developing a lifestyle you love, that works for you.
It’s more than just having a certain body type, a certain waist size, or a certain number on the scale showing up for you.
It’s about what the addition energy, strength, and charge in your life gives you.
Does it give you more time with family?
Does it give you more energy to work on projects at work or at home?
Does it help your relationships?
You can continue doing the same thing…but expect the same result, because that’s what will happen.
Everybody is doing the same thing and expecting different results, right?
But that’s what we call INSANITY!
We have to go for a different solution.
We have to go for something completely different if we want a different result than what we’ve been getting in our lives.
And today I want you to shift your thinking in that way.
For a long time, I kept working towards a career and I kept digging and digging towards that same path to be successful. Maybe that’s how you feel with your weight or fitness. You’ve been really trying to get healthy, doing the workouts, eating the healthy food, really forcing it down your throat, and you just keep going back and forth with your results, right?
You’re committed, and then you’re not committed.
You’re motivated, and then you’re not motivated.
And it’s because you’re going after the same process and going after it in the same way.
You’re expecting different results, but unfortunately you don’t get different results when you tackle your problems or struggles in the same way over and over and over again.
You’ve got to take a different approach to get a different result.
It was the same thing in my life as a young trainer. I wanted to be a fitness star.
I wanted to make a difference.
I wanted to change lives.
I wanted to make an impact on the world and be remembered like Jane Fonda.
That was my goal when I moved to L.A. – I was putting out workout DVDs, shoving fitness down people’s throats, I became the host of POPSUGAR, I was putting out programs, training people on the floor, teaching fitness classes…
But I realized that what that did was drive me into the ground.
I got burnt out. I got depressed. Overwhelmed. Overworked.
I was broke, tired, and living on sugar and caffeine.
Until…
I found a different way to be an influencer, to make a difference, to change lives, and to make an impact.
Want to know how that happened? I started working on my mind.
Five years ago, I had never worked on personal development. I had never taken a personal development course, never worked on my confidence, my energy, or my mental focus.
I never went to a personal development course and once I did, I was exposed to thinking differently. Not only about myself, but about how I could help other people.
It changed the whole course of my career.
And then I realized, “OMG, If I change my mindset and build more confidence, it changes my energy, my attitude, and my focus!”
I saw success in such a different way.
I knew I needed to improve my energy and attitude. I needed to alter behaviors to be healthier and more clear.
Then, I could help people.
My struggles with my career are no different than what you’re going through – whether it’s your fitness, your career, or your relationships.
The missing link is the development, strength, and confidence we build in our minds.
You don’t need a diet.
You need a more powerful mindset. You need more confidence.
I know because I’ve been there. And I thought I didn’t need any confidence. I thought I was the most confident person I knew.
I WAS PLAYING SMALL
I was looking at the people around me and what they were doing. Comparing myself to them – and I was doing way more than they were.
But once I joined a different environment, once my eyes opened up to other things and what other people were doing, thinking, and teaching, I realized I was playing small.
Changing your perspective, attitude, and mindset is mandatory so that everything else isn’t so difficult. Making choices won’t feel so hard.
We don’t need willpower anymore when we’re clear on who we are.
You want to look and feel your best.
Like I said before, if you keep going after the same solutions – same diet and fitness program or even a different diet and fitness program – but you still haven’t changed your mind, behaviors, or thought patterns, it won’t be sustainable.
You might get that motivation from a quick result that can be addictive, but then all of a sudden you have difficult sustaining it…
Because it’s so important that we stay focused on what is truly the essence of our growth.
If you think about it, what time in your life did you succeed above and beyond the norms of what was expected of you?
When was a time when you busted from the seams and created such massive change in your life that you totally blew yourself away?
What did you do differently?
What came into your life that changed the game for you?

It will be that game changer that allows you to bust at the seams and breakthrough to where you need to be in your life.
It is my mission to help you be successful in your life – no matter what that success might be.
What will you do differently this year to reach your goals?
